We planted 3 122 Speckboom trees this weekend in the Baviaanskloof. Thank you to Trevor Philander and Clifton Human for all the planning, execution and planting. Professional, Precise and productive work - well done. We are excited to be planting 3 000 Spekboom/Pork bush tree cuttings in Baviaanskloof on the farm Rooikloof and surrounds this weekend. It is a soft-wooded, semi-evergreen upright small tree, growing up to 4.5 metres tall. Dr Anthony Mills from the Research Restoration Group has been investigating how the plant manages to store more than four tons of carbon per hectare, creating what is known as a carbon sink in large plantations. In other words, 10 hectares of spekboom is equivalent to taking 26 cars off the road for a year. We thank Trevor Philander, a local, and his team, for guidance and assistance.
